Attractions Sri Harmandar Sahib
Amritsar
- The City of Sri Harmandar Sahib (Swarna Mandir) or Darbar
Sahib
(The Court Divine).
Sri
Harmandar Sahib or Golden Temple, as the name suggests has
a central golden dome. Sri Harmandar Sahib has a Double story
marble structure, is built on a 67 feet square platform in
the centre of sacred tank,Amrit-Sarovar. The Sri Harmandar
Sahib, with upper walls covered with Golden Sheets, itself
is 40.5 feet. square. It has a door each on the East, West,
North and South.The four doors of Sri Harmandar Sahib in four
cardinal directions are open for all visitors from all directions
of world.

Gobind
Garh Fort In the south-west of the city, has been
taken over by the Indian army and is now off limits. It
was built in 1805-09 by Ranjit Singh, who was also responsible
for constructing the city walls. |

Tirath Temple is located at a distance of 11 kilometers
West of Chogawan road, Amritsar. The Temple dates back
top the period of Ramayana. There is an ancient tank at
this place. A number of Temples are scattered in the area.
At the site there is a hut where Mata Sita gave birth
to Luv and Kush. The site also has Maharishi Valmiki's
hermitage and a well with stairs where Mata Sita used
to take her bath. The Temples exhibit scenes from Ramayana.

This
beautiful garden is named as a tribute to Sri Guru Ram
Das, the founder of the city of Amritsar. It is situated
in the modern city of Amritsar and has a museum in the
summer palace.It is built by the Sikh Maharaja Ranjit
Singh (1780-1839), the Lion of Punjab. This garden is
laid out on the pattern of Shalimar Bagh at Lahore.
The garden is approached by a huge fortified gate on
the periphery of the garden.
To
commemorate the memory of Maharaja Ranji Singh’s valour
Ram Bagh has a lively statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh
saddled on a horse

Location:
It is a heritage sight built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Pul Kanjari is about 22 miles from Amritsar. Situated
near the villages of Daoka and Dhanoa Kalan on the Wagha
border, The Maharaja would often rest and leisure here
in the baradari while passing by along with his royal
troops. At this there exists now a temple, a Gurudwara
and a mosque shows the secular concerns of the Maharaja.

Rivers Beas and Sutlej at Harika Pattan meet and forms
a lake, situated mid way between Amritsar and Ferozepur.People
from different places enjoy holiday or schools and colleges
spend picnic time at this place.It was declared a national
wildlife sanctuary in 1982. About 350 odd species of birds
migrate here in winter from far flung lands of Pakistan,
Afghanistan, China and Siberia.

A very charming and elegant structure situated
in a small village south west of Amritsar. A beautiful
gate in the Serai is built in architecture of Mughal
